Mon, Oct 24, UPDATE: As usual I’m waiting on someone else to finish up work that was promised days ago. I’ve spoken with the people doing the update on the site and it should be done within the next couple of hours. I’ll post again if that changes.

Yay, we have our shipper back! They are starting to resume operations today and will be taking new shipments as of tomorrow. So any parcels that have been waiting on this will be shipping tomorrow from our office.

Read MoreAlternate Shipping
I’ve spent the last day or so trying to get alternate shipping set up on the site, but it’s not going well. It needs an update to the software, but the update is breaking the site functionality. I’m working on fixing the problem, but my skills are limited and I may need to bring in a developer.
In the meantime, I’ve read that the Federal government is prepared to discuss legislation that would force the workers back to work. This discussion may take place as early as Monday of next week, which would have the mail going again possibly as soon as Tuesday next week.
If that happens I don’t want to spend hours and dollars fixing something that won’t be broke come Tuesday. So, I’ve decided to wait it out until then to see if normal shipping resumes. If not then I’ll get someone in to get the site up to speed for the new shippers.
I’m sorry for the interruption in business, but having looked at all the options I think this is the best short-term solution.
Patterns will be available to view and all versions for computerized systems are available as usual.
Shipments that did not clear Canada or are destined for delivery within Canada will be delayed due to the labour dispute.

Well, Canada Post in it’s infinite wisdom (NOT) has decided to lock out it’s employees, putting all shipping at a stand-still.
I had already set up accounts with some of the other shippers, but just now find out that I have to upgrade my site software to use them properly. So, the site is down for me to do that. I’m going to take this opportunity to load another piece of software that I bought also, so it’s going to take the better part of the day – barring errors – for me to get this done.

Wow, after what seems like ages complaining about the weather and the fact the summer seemed to never arrive, all of a sudden it is here. And with it comes all those many things that need doing during the summer – some of them involve traveling and time away.
Below is a listing of some of the changes in hours that will result. I’ll update as needed.
- May 30 to June 3 – Office will be closed, no orders will ship until following week!
- July 11 to 14 – Office will be closed, orders will still ship daily
- July 25 – Closed, weekend orders will ship Tuesday
- July 4 – Closed, weekend orders will ship Tuesday
- Sept 5 – Closed for Labour Day Holiday, weekend orders will ship Tuesday
